병원 검사 결과지를 보면 mural lesion, mural nodule이라고 하던데, mural은 무슨 뜻인가요?

우리가 병원에서 종합검진을 하고 난 뒤 받은 결과지 내의 초음파 판독지에서 mural lesion 또는 mural nodule이라는 용어들이 종종 나옵니다. 또 CT 판독지에서도 mural thickening이라는 용어들도 종종 나옵니다. 여기서 mural이 무슨 뜻인지 알아보겠습니다. 

 

mural은 일단 "벽"이라는 뜻을 가지고 있습니다. 영영 사전을 확인해보면 아래와 같이 나옵니다. 

 - of or pertaining to a wall ; being on, or in, a wall ; growing on, or against, a wall 

 

결론적으로 mural은 벽에 존재하는, 벽에 있는, 벽에서 자라는, 벽 가까이 있는 이라는 뜻이 됩니다. 

그럼 mural은 어떤 식의 용어로 사용되는지 한번 보겠습니다. 

 - mural abscess, 복벽 농양

 - mural endocarditis, 벽 심내막염

 - mural pregnancy, 자궁벽 자궁관 임신

 - mural thrombus, 벽 혈전

 

초음파에서는 어떻게 사용되는지 몇 가지 예를 들어보겠습니다.
